North America

North America boasts mountain ranges, forests, rivers, deserts, and beaches. In fact it has a great diversity of habitats, and a great potential for adventure. There are many national parks, state parks, national forests, and BLM managed areas for exploration. Although many of the public lands in the United States are located in the west, there are opportunities across the entire continent, from the boreal forest of Alaska and Canada to the subtropical islands of the Florida Keys. Often the best strategy to lose the crowds and find true adventure and isolation is to avoid the better-known national parks, and venture into areas managed by the state, forest service, or BLM.
